These blanks are the last of the large stock I had that I endup losing about 70% due to a vicious infestation of a small type of wood borer by the time I discover the issue most of the vine trunks were unusable. After sorting through it, some pieces were still not infested or very little (THESE HAVE LOTs OF BORER HOLES) and so that I could salvage what I could, I had to stabilise the blanks to kill any borer still inside and to prevent any further contamination, however, this stabilisation process was slightly different than my normal there is, this time I removed the blanks from the stabilising pot as soon as the air bubbles stopped but, I never left the blanks soaking in the Cactus Juice for a few hours to achieve maximum soaking, most of these blanks/wood would not have needed stabilisation if I hadn't to protect the wood so what I'm trying to say is that, the blanks are not heavily stabilised/soaked in the CJ and therefore its weight is not much different than if they haven't been stabilised.

While these coloured stabilised blanks have lots of borer holes, I salvaged them due to the fact that, some people use them as character and or feature of nature work.

Shiraz Red wine is a well famous wine from this part of Australia, produced in the next town from here, the McLaren Vale.

There is a long and interesting story about how he  (wife and I) got these vines and that can be seen/read in here but, one thing I can say, for the first year the unprocessed vine was untouched by any bugs but, all of a certain, an infestation was present from tiny little bugs that apparently love to eat vine when is half dry.

I lost 50% of all my unprocessed stock (had to burn it) and the rest had to be processed (oversized) in a hurry and stabilised with Cactus Juice to kill and prevent any further damage to the vine.  Some of the vines were quite hard and stable, while others were quite soft and difficult to work with without some sort of hardening process so, the necessity to stabilize/treat all the vine in stock, was quite an expensive exercise but, was the only way I could salvage these unique vines, they produce one of the best wines from the region, for 40 long years so, not something that I will get again, in my lifetime...!
