This is the same wood as below described but a few years later from logs buried in the sand, they became extremely soft reason for stabilising.

I believe, this is the first time I list this wood species has pen blanks, I may have listed some round and square blanks on the eBay store, years ago but, mostly was unprocessed as when we got it, years ago, it was all very green and this wood is a slow drying one, due to its density and weight...!

A great wood to work with and finish, the grain, or should I say the "rays" are most typical of this type of the Oaks family, similar timbers part of my "timbers list" are the #15 (Holly-Oak) and the #14 She/Bull-Oak, these are the more pronounced "rays" as wood grain but other offer similar effects but in a smaller scale.

Australian Casuarinas trees are commonly found around these areas, near main roads, as wind-brakes around houses and sheds and also a privacy fences if the trees are trimmed short and bushy.

The colour variation I get from a small log, is sometimes extreme so, I try to make the packs with a good assortment of colours for everyone to enjoy...!
